I was watching NHRA and I told Hubby it was my destiny to be a pit crew member working on a high performance race car.

I can't explain how I feel when the vibration from a high hp engine pulses thru my body.

He said those guys had been doing it all their lives and good luck.

I was talking about what should have happened but didn't.

When I was 13 I asked my Dad to let me take shop which at that time covered engines.
He said "No" because it wasn't lady like and sent me to home something other instead.

No matter how stupid it may be..let your children be who they are.

To a point Granny. As long as it's in the realm of reason and doesn't provoke danger.

My son's best friend paints his fingernails black and blue and wears the craziest outfits to school. It was a little strange to me at first but that's just hime and he's a great kid! I won't necessarily force my son, Roman, into anything. He may get a stiff nudge towards sports or some sort of social activity though.

Prov. 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The way he should go in the Hebrew has to do with the way he naturally bends. My son's first words were shelby cobra. But, he just didn't naturally bend towards working on cars. He likes them but doesn't have that bend to work on them. I'll have to agree with you Granny. Funny how what were good at we enjoy doing and vice versa.

I have always wanted to be a tech for Lamborghini, but my parents think it's a stupid thing to pursue as a career. They always push me into the industrial field of work, having nothing good to say about me wanting to go back to school... Who knows though, perhaps one day we can in some ways fulfill our dreams and do the things we want. It may take some effort and a few thrown elbows, but I believe regardless of gender, parents, or any form of negativity we can be able to do what we want.
