    Anyone have lightweight battery?

I want to put it in the original spot without it sliding around or having to put it in the trunk. Would a smaller battery holder be enough to keep it from sliding?

use a wood block on top and tighten down the bracket well. that should hold it just fine without a new bracket.

You really don't want to have it in the engine compartment at all. If you are talking about a really small battery that still has enough amps to start your car, then you must be talking about SLA batteries. They are much more temperature sensitive than a regular battery, and you'll find your battery won't last long in the heat that our engine compartments routinely see. Also, if you are talking about getting one of the Hawker G16's, if you put a block of wood on top of it to tighten it down, you'll probably crack the housing and ruin it. An optima or something would work for that.

Best bet is to move it to the back.

like this?....you can put it in the engine bay, mount it whatever direction you want to. someone on here STM SSM something like that was making stock location mounting kits for these specifically, he said he was going to make one to go where the washer bottle used to be, i'd like that one for mine.

that dyna batt was 134 shipped from summit, if you wanna save some cash, its only 13.5 lbs, and is 680 CCA so it's lighter, cheaper and has the same CCA as that one.

One more thing I saw that the Odyssey battery has the option to add a metal jacket to protect from heat does the dyna batt have that? It is needed if its going to be under the hood and not in the trunk?

it's a sealed battery, it's not really affected by heat, but I'm sure there are jackets made for mounting it, "that happen to be metal"
