just an option, but you can always run a group 51 battery, save weight and save a lot of space, but have all the benefits of a full size battery. I believe mine is 25 lbs. Heavier than the gel or motorcycle batteries, but really it is not a lot of weight.

bringing this back from the dead a bit...
There are iirc only 3 manufacturers that make batteries in the U.S. all the different brands are just re-stickered versions of the same exact battery... Personally I went with a Big Crank ETX16 (about $85) it came in a Magna power battery box... I could have saved a lot of money buying the magna power ETX16L (SAME EXACT BATTERY) buying it on credit card day at Meijer (I didn't know at the time)... plenty of CCA's and honestly a battery that costs me <$70 I am fine with replacing a little more often.

I've got an odyssey PC925 in the trunk of my car as my only battery (considering getting a second one, just to power the stereo, etc.) and have had no issues with it. It's slightly larger than the ones listed above and slightly more expensive. I got a good deal on a powder coated mount made for it via ebay, too

interesting...you guys with these batteries having livespan/charge holding issues?

I tried a smaller battery and it just would not last, would not crank the car for more than around 20-40 seconds without dying, if the car was not started for more than 1 to 2 weeks it was dead...

I like the idea of it being light, but just for the fact that it's ALWAYS fine and ALWAYS going to start the car I went a Optima Yellow Top D34

God I love not even thinking about it.

Absolutely 0 issues with my Odyssey PC925 - 925 CCA vs the D34's 750 CCA, as a matter of fact. Hold's a pretty long charge, too. Even with my stereo equipment, etc.

well that's a start, I'd like to have a smaller lighter battery, more people? list how long your car sits without being driven/started (mine goes for over a month easily)
