So, i like old military aircraft, having been born into an AF family.

i snapped this pic at the Chino air museum, at first i thought i was just a B-29 Superfortress,..... like a B-29, like theres one on every corner.

and then the other day i googled the name on the plane, turns out its actually a B-50
which was a B-29 with bigger engines and other airframe mods.

And, turns out it was the first airplane to circumnavigate the world..with out landing for gas! it was refueled in air.

Kinda cool to see a whatever that was the first at something.

I used to love going to the Air Force museum in Dayton. I can't remember if it was actually located on Wright-Patt, or was off base. I was just a kid when I went there last. The Thunderbird Museum at Nellis AFB was pretty cool too.

Nice, I flew an F86 a few times for an airshow, along with a B25 and a Stinson Trimotor.
I would love to fly a P38 and a TA152. My two favorites from that era. I doubt there is a flying TA152 anywhere in the world though.

this was the first place that i saw Korean war era planes fly, it was a very cool experience!
I think out of all the fighters, Id enjoy driving the F 86 the most.

I have always been obsesed with the B-17, I'm pretty sure I have made damn near every model made some where around 25-30 B-17s. I also go to the air show they have in Grand Forks MN every year, I love watching the Blue angels!

It is a very hard airplane to fly. Engine is not responsive, The swept wings make low speed operations a real chore. You have to stay very far ahead of it to stay out of trouble. At 400+ knots it operates fine then it becomes fun, below 400 knots it is a pig.
I used to fly at the EAA airshows in OSH Wi. From 1979-1984.

I miss my local air show (Willow Grove), and it rained out the local Warbirds show I managed to make it to the Wings of Eagles museum in New York a few years back, I enjoyed it a lot. I got to take home a piece of Piper Cub wing, lol
