    Not your typical vacation...

So i go back to cali for a few days to enjoy my break from work and nothing went as planned. I dont end up going to the Redwoods, nor Yosemite. I did get to hit up the beach for the day and catch some waves though. Then the day before my long drive back to Utah i decided to see if i could find some spare Jeep parts at the junk yard. I wasn't expecting to find anything special but then i see a white 105k mile 92TT. I was like "hell no" im not pulling this out now. Well 2+ hours later...

Well there is a catch though. The rear cams look to be dead on, but the belt started to slide off the cams and melt the plastic covers. This is what the front cams look like...

Im guessing the exhaust side has some bent valves.

BTW the turbos look like they had some debris that got to them as well...

I know. Seems like we can never get away. The price was great too.

So on the front bank the exhaust is off 6 teeth and the intake is off 3. Im betting the intake is just fine, but 6 teeth in the exhaust has be worried.

Don't be worried. At the VERY least: pull it apart, get the heads rebuilt, check for bearing clearance, check the piston tops, slap it together and find a shell...
    Nice pickup!

When you called me I didn't think you'd seriously pull the engine and the trans. But hey, like you said, it's always nice to have spares.

That is exactly what i was planning on doing. Might be a while though. Funny thing is that i was going to leave the motor, but somehow i talked myself into getting it as well. All i wanted was another transmission and TC. Ended up being faster pulling the whole unit as one. Also got the motor mounts with zero cracks. Car seriously was babied. Im guessing the person who did the 60k did the belt too tight and caused it to track wrong, melt on the cover and eventually slip a few cogs. Not sure though. Motor turns over by hand just fine though.
