    NEW winter beater

    Hello all!

Well if you all didn't know. My previous winter beater was a 1995 Dodge Avenger, which did me good for years before i purchased my stealth. This year i tried to repair it, but didn't succeed. Rust engulfed it, and since i didn't have any major body repair knowledge, i decided to sell it as a parts car.

Now i have recently purchased a new winter beater, which isn't really a beater. But will still serve the title lol.

Here are some pictures of it just as i brought it home.

It currently doesn't run due to a bad headgasket that wasn't taken care of. It has a D15B7 in it, and the spare cylinder head is from a D16Y8. So it should have a bit of balls to it. I know its profound to own a civic, since my title says "Honda Eater" lol. but whatever.

I bought it for 400 bucks (Canadian).. It has no honda rust, no bondo, although the cancer is starting on the passenger rear which is a dime size of surface rust.

This should do me good before i do a B20A engine block/B18C1 v-tec cylinder head swap, years down the road.

Anyways, just thought i'd share what happens in my life lol

    Thanks!
    Mike

You cant beat that price, lol. They are dirt cheap and never break, or at least the ones Ive owned havent. My 96 hatch went 55k before I sold it. All I did was replace an axle and axel boot and do the 60k which was never done at 122k when I first bought the car.

I opened up the valve cover only to discover that the oil colour was a dark brown. But when i shined my light on it, the oil was green lol.
I just hope there isn't a knock in the internals lol.

But the rest of the car is in pretty good condition. Underbody is clean, exhaust looks brand new. Interior is in acceptable condition. Just need to buy head gasket, valve cover gasket, 4 speakers, a stock spoiler, and JDM tail lights.

lol i guess the previous guy liked Marlboro

I think i'm gonna keep the clear corners.. they look cool. But i'm DEFINITELY getting rid of those altezza tail lights and buying JDM red/white ones.

I'm gonna be workin on it over the summer. But right now, my stealth is my main focus. I need her on the road in April.

ahhh it could be i guess. I usually drive my stealth from april until end of october. Then drive my (winter beater) from november until april. But that might change this summer, due to the stupid gas prices :S

I'm almost finished doing the cylinder head swap. I ran into some trouble with removing certain bolts. Took a lot of force to remove them, and i had to borrow my buddies beefy impact gun since the crankpulley bolt was being stubborn.

I'll post a video when i first start it up, if it fails or succeeds lol.
