AEM ECU users

How many are using an AEM ECU in their cars? I'm using an AEM setup with mixed success. I'm likely going to take it to be tuned soon. Share your modifications, and any advice you have for this system.

My car has.
19T turbos
780cc injectors
FMIC, MAF delete with twin intakes.
Headers, precat eliminators, downpipe, but stock cat back.
AEM ECU with GM MAP sensor, AEM UEGO O2 sensor, AEM AIT sensor, and GM Boost solenoid.
Also running an FPR with Walbro 255lph.

As for advice on tuning. I don't really have any at the moment other than make sure knock control is on.

You have knock control turned on, but have you setup your knock sensor cal table? Without doing that, just turning on knock control may not be safe. Depends on how much mechanical noise versus real detonation your engine has.

If running a base map that comes with the AEM (series 1), your timing will be way off.

Have you setup your ignition timing? (Configure/ECU Setup/Setup ignition.)

Yeah, I have a base calibration for knock running. I was just giving a suggestion. You took what I was saying further.

Unfortunately for myself, I need to either crack the books a bunch and learn the program even more, or I need to take it somewhere to get it tuned well. I'm currently working on an old tune with new stuff. It runs and drives pretty good, but I'm not able to get out of my car what it is really capable of. I am trying to set up a tuning time with a shop about an hour away from my house, but my wife says "No" till I take my GRE test. She can spend 250 bucks getting her hair done, but I can't spend 300 bucks getting my car tuned.
