No, you have to do the adjustment.

What adjustment? From what I've just read in the service manual the ECU only looks for a smooth input from the TPS if you have a logger make sure that its at or near 100 at WOT and its adjusted correctly.

Isn't the idle switch part of the TPS? That would have to be adjusted.

Exactly. The idle switch is built into the TPS and has to be adjusted...

When you look at the TPS and see how its mounted you'll see that it doesn't just bolt on. The holes where the bolts go through are slotted so that the sensor can be rotated. When you put the new one on you'll have to adjust it to the correct position. It's pretty easy to do but you'll need a feeler and an ohm meter.

Check your service manual it has a step by step on how to change it and adjust it.

Idle switch had to be "just" off when a 0.65mm feeler guage is placed between the Fixed SAS screw and the tang on the Throttle body. You can`t set it up by TPS% it has to be set by the switch as Steve says.

The idle switch governs overrun fuel cut as well as putting the car into idle mode so it needs to be set properly..

Put the TPS in with the plug end facing down.. it has to be straight down. Then you press/turn it 90 degrees towards the battery, then tighten it down.

Theres a metal ring inside with little tabs on it, attached to a spring. You'll feel the tension of it once you turn it.

Good point. In the throttle body section it does say to install it as you said, with the connector facing down then rotate it up. It then goes on to tell you to check the adjustment...
