Thought I'd start this age old thread back up for anyone needing this info. A few months ago, I slapped on a set of 4 Rota P45R's in 18x9.5 all the way around with a 30mm offset. They're on a 1st gen VR-4. I spent alot of time trying to find the right setup with tires and correct offset and here was my end result.. I put on some 265/35/18 tires on them and they fit perfect on the rear end. Perfectly flush with no sticking out, BUT the front did end up needing the spacer and they stick out maybe an inch. It appears that doing a front 2nd gen brake conversion will push the big brake caliper out some further away from the hub giving me that little extra space needed to take the spacer out and push the front wheels back in but I haven't done this yet. Has anyone with a 1st gen done the 2nd gen VR4 front brake conversion and had success with clearing the calipers with these wheels?
