Did the GTO have a 13g turbo option?

This is incorrect. When looking up the gearbox in ASA it tells you what models it's used on. For these it's GTO only. The box model might be similar but is not the same.

i dont really care for the SR's because no one has them here. well there is 1 or 2 but they dont care about forums and such so i didnt bother. the whole point of my gto bible was info the the guys importing gtos to canada, and they all import turbos.

I posted some instruction months back on how to install CAPS/ASA on your computer. You can install JDM, USDM and Euro version. You can then search using a vin number and check specs. This is how I know MRs did not have BBS standard. All the MR vins I have run have had standard wheels. I am yet to see BBS on any of them. Can't comment on the turbos as I haven't looked into that.

Monteros are RWD based so the trans is completely different. Its similar to the ATX's in DSM's, but the cases are obviously different.

i'd REALLY like to see specifics on precisely what is different. i'm not saying you're wrong. i just can't imagine that the bellhousing, internals, or even gearing is different. there may be a few differences in the valve-body, solenoids, sensors, tcu, etc--but those are all electronics.

regardless of what model of w4a33 you get; swapping 3/s f4a33 electronics over to it works. that tells me that they are mechanically identical. too bad shooter83 isn't here to chime in, but i'm sure hans/em might have some input.

that's too bad. tt converting/swapping an sr is even easier than doing it to a z11. it's what i would have done, if i had the $$$ and didn't mind rhd. i guess turbos are kinda important though.

Off topic a bit but news to me I just found out there was a AWD non turbo GTO in Japan .. Anyone know anything more about it ??? Known as the SR .. Was it basically just a AWD SL ???

the GTO ATX AWD trans is mechanically identical to the DSM transmissions. Any upgrade you can do to those you can do to the GTO ATX AWD trans. However, the bellhousings are different, therefore you CAN NOT use a DSM trans on a 3000GT.
