With that said i find myself leaning toward posting up either your "first time using any 3s forum ", or when you purchased your first 3s. I only say this because people come and go here all the time and i would hate to disrespect someone who doesnt use the forums as often as others, but yet has a solid background. I also remember when i was a noob and had no idea who to listen to. Granted join date doesnt mean you know squat, just that you have been around the block.
    That's a very good point.

I agree with this option. No need to carry a join date from another forum, but the length of experience or ownership with these cars makes perfect sense.

As much as we ALL want to feel important, if you need to come and log in here to feel that importance then you are hiding some issues, LOL... and as far as the respect goes, we should all earn that respect and offer it to others unless a user does not deserve said respect because of something he has posted. I know that we all don't think like that, but we are all different in a lot of ways.
Because the number of years you've been a 3S member is directly linked to your Dong size..
I was finally up to 10 years, which put my Online Pecker at right around 19"..
Now I'm back to the more realistic size of 3...

No reason really for your old join dates. You didn't join 3SGTO back in 03 or 01. Respect of a member isn't based on their term length on the forum.

Even though I recognize a lot of peope now, I have to admit that I don't always remember who's been around and who is just a post whore. I agree with Eric - I give a little more credance to people who have been with the platform a long time, or I may decide that responding to somebody who's new is just going to start an argument. Yeah, we all know the older members who love to argue but at least you're forewarned there!

If someone had massive rep (after the change) that counts for as much as longevity, but a lot of us who have been here for years don't have more than a dot or two.

Also, frankly, when I looked at "For Sale" I was a whole lot more comfortable with people who'd been on the board for 3+ years. I've never had a problem working with people who have been on here for 3, 4, or more years. Alas, I can't say the same for 2 and under. Now, I have also had great transactions with newer members - you know who you are! So don't take it as a blanket indictment. Maybe the new verified will take care of that... we can only hope.

Anyway, I voted for keeping the dates. Hell, we're mostly keeping our user names, so let's go whole hog.

I think a lot of you are missing part of the point of this forum. This really is a fresh start for everyone. It doesnt really matter how long you spent on 3si and it says little about the knowledge you have for the platform. Alan has made a point of letting everyone join this forum regardless of past 3si history. If you screw up I am confident you will be gone regardless of years spent on the other side. Not to pick on you at all but take Nelson for example. He was banned from 3si as most of us are aware. I never had any contact with him seeing how I believe he was banned before I joined but read his older threads. He came off as cocky, rude and sometimes just mean. He didnt like to share info about his setups or about what he did to make things work.
So far in the early stages of this forum I have found Nelson to be very willing to attempt regain respect, share his platform knowledge and is very kind to the rest of us. This is all part of the fresh start. I could care less how long you have owned a 3s for (or 3si for that matter lol) or talked BS on another 3s forum. What matters is what you can contribute now to make this the site I think Alan envisions it to be. If you want a reputation as being a all knowing 3s expert then earn it.
