DSM Brake Booster on a 2G TT 3/S

I'm planning on removing ABS from my 94 R/TT and was looking at using a 1G DSM brake master cylinder since they're not nearly as thick and I need some additional room around that area.

For those with more knowledge, how much of a disadvantage in braking power do you think this will be, if any? Removing ABS is supposed to give better brake response/feel and I'm wondering if switching to a smaller DSM brake booster will just negate this or have no bearing on the brake pressure/feel.

    Any suggestions?

The stock TT booster is an 8+9 booster (double diaphram), I should have a better idea what the NA booster is tonight, but I'm assuming it's a 7+8. If the DSM booster is a single, say a 7 or 8", it will about double the force required to generate a certain psi in the system, but have no effect on the "feel" (modulation ability), just make it harder to push. That's assuming it will bolt in and have a rod length that's compatable with our MC.

Austin is running a DSM master cylinder with the stock brake booster.

So if its a single diaphragm it will likely require double the force on the pedal? I may have to try this....

Austin's car is also ~1000lbs lighter than most. Just something to take in to account.

The master cylinders are very similar, but with a remote mounted resovior tank. I think that's really the biggest difference between the two.

The brake booster is something I'm not sure anyone else has tried out yet.

Not really double, as the secondary booster diaphram has a much larger ID than the primary (therefore less area), without measuring it I'd guess at around 1/3 more force if the diameters are the same, increasing as the diameter decreases.

Yea Austin was running the dsm master cylinder. I bought the setup from him when we traded intake manifolds.

It's got the remote mounted res, dsm prop valve, and stainless braided lines for the ABS delete. I asked him about the weight issue and he said I shouldn't have any problems with it. My car will be considerably lighter than stock with all the weight reduction I'm doing but no where near Austin's Stealth.

Are you just doing the master cylinder or are you the DSM brake booster, too?
