I've got a 92' VR4 that I've tried to keep pretty much stock. I often hear a loud clicking noise coming from under the hood which I've identified to be from the Wastegate solenoid. It comes and goes..etc.
I've read posts elsewhere where others have had this issue and deemed it wasn't a problem necessarily, however, the clicking is so loud its annoying (I can hear it inside the car very easily when stopped at a light) so I've decided to do something about it.
I can get a replacement for that but its $80 from a dealer (ouch). I've also toyed with possibly getting a boost controller. Am I better off just trying to get one of these from a junk yard or do they all have the same problem? What's my best option to keep the amount of work to a minimum without getting bent over by the dealership?
