You can't tell me that 3380 WITH a driver is not a stripped down version of what a 3S is. I'll stick to my statement until someone proves me incorrect. I doubt that'll ever happen though.

The recent 515 dynoed car at Ray's shop has already expressed intrest in a larger set of turbos, hmm wonder why?

    Jeff
Didn't argue that it wasn't stripped, I did address that though saying that the difference in ET from the weight would be close to 1/2 second of ET. I also said, and I quote:

would say theoretically 10s are within reach at the limit, but you'd need a lot more supporting mods/work and skill to make it happen. Just not really worth it honestly when you could get DRs that WILL get you there and probably with less expense.
And Thors already got a bigger set (DR800 IIRC.) My point is merely that a 10.9 would be theoretically possible at the absolute limit with the right driver, conditions and mods (since that was the original point of the thread.) Citing Ray's 11.2 with DR650s on a mostly stock car which had what, roughly 480awhp? Again, still better options out there for it, but theoretically 10s could be possible.

I agree completely though that were I chasing a 10s time slip, 13Ts would not be my choice to do it. By the time you total everything else that you need to do it, might as well have thrown down the extra 2k for a set of billet 750s and have more left to play with. 750s could do more through the stock exhaust and intercoolers (and intake aside from an Evo MAF) than the 13Ts would with FMIC, full exhaust, head work + cams, ARC2 or MAFT with appropriate MAF and pretty much every other bolt on you could throw at it. By the time you total all the other parts up, you could've paid for 750s and been ahead of the game.
Mods: 2g 3k body conversion, 2g Brake upgrade, Rota P45R rims
Projects: Interior sound deadening, 14Bs, forged bottom end, custom radiator and sound mounts

I suppose the point is, 13t is a budget turbo setup, its unlikely that anyone who drops big $$ into the rest of the drivetrain is going to choose that turbo, when there is more headroom available in other options.

I had the right setup to try it at one point, fmic, AEM, 13t's, 780cc, dr heads and headers, I never got a chance to really push them though, the tuner I paid to tune the AEM would up blowing my my engine, after that I ditched the 13t's and went td05.

WARNING: this contains alot of me rambling........just saying

Well, it's been a long almost three years since this thread was started, putting this car back together has brought me to hate "three years ago Dillon"....fixing shitty wiring, fixing things I messed up trying to change, it's just been like WTF man, take some pride in your work, but this is the problem with having the car since high school, as you mature, in both knowledge, skill, and taste, you start to find things to fix and things appear that you have to fix. I believe the turbo blew from an incorrectly preloaded waste gate actuator. We'll never know if I could have ran 10.99x on the 13T's, but at this point I don't care, I still want a fast car, but having a street able monster that is not a "sleeper" because lets face it, these cars are way to sexy for that to happen, but a 5xx HP street car on pump gas seems like an achievable goal that will make for an insanely fast "in relation to most everything on the road", and "as much as a 3kgt can be" reliable sports car that will just be enjoyable to drive. for the 100 miles I got to drive the car before the turbo crapped out, it was a blast. I'm more than thrilled with the 3.1L Ray sent me, and being able to say I built the car from the block up personally gives me alot more pride than doing what my buddy did and "drop his "Pontiac" gto off at a shop and get it back with 480HP at the wheels, yeah it's easier, but the car hasn't had a problem yet that I haven't really been able to chase down in a matter of hours, from basically knowing how everything works together. I'm not trying to say I know as much as Chris Hill or Ray so save your flames, I just enjoy being able to diagnose and fix my own issues when they arise and I've become pretty good at it. as nice as it would be, I don't think I'll ever be done modding the car as I enjoy the building process more than driving it, which is hard to do...lol but I've noticed lately that while my friends seem to love HP and TQ numbers and how the car looks, I find myself fascinated with the technical aspects of the cars,...I suppose that stems from when we were little, while they would be playing with hot wheels cars, I would be building, breaking, and rebuilding LEGO contraptions. I have plenty in store for the car, and lots of DIY's that will hopefully turn out for the better. I want to thank all you guys in the community for being as helpful as you are being on a couple other forums, we are just a different kind of enthusiast that I haven't really seen anything like before. hope to see you all at NG14 thanks for sticking with me on this never ending adventure that is owning a 3/S

Looks like they will bolt up just fine...I should have gone down this route... Reason I didn't purchase them is because of rumors stating they aren't a bolt-on turbo...BTW I've got 13t comp housings myself and oil/coolant lines fit just fine. How much did they run you?

Turbos look sweet. I hope they work well for you. If your goal is 500awhp on 100% pump gas (no meth), as stated in your above post, I would've gone with bigger turbos. Something like 16gs or DR800's. Much better chance of getting there without needing more octane.
