uh yeah, if you use the clutch right there is a lot less shock. Dumping the clutch is much worse. I also can launch at 1000 less rpm and get better 60FTs now.

Why people think you need that shit to successfully drag race really baffles me!!! I've put hundreds of passes on 3/s cars from stock to fairly heavily modded and NEVER EVER broke anything -- no 300M output shafts, no billet cases, welded in braces, 2-step, etc... Not even the OEM bracket that some 1st gens came with! All you need is good poly or solid motor mounts, NOT an overkill clutch from what you're trying to accomplish and good technique.

Pro Tip: Wheel spin is your friend.

All of that stuff is great, but it is definitely NOT needed unless you're trying to break records. The average weekend warrior trying to run 11's doesn't need any of that to be successful.

So because you personally never broke anything this means that others will not? Or are you saying that others are doing something wrong and this is causing things to break? Are bad motor mounts the root cause of most failures?

Why risk a $300 bell housing brace install or a $200 transfercase bracket install for a $6k transmission? Oh let me get the Darwin award for those people. It doesn't change the fact that if it doesn't break on launches that it won't. We see more people breaking transmissions because there are more powerful affordable turbos available now. Just look at the billet TD04 and larger TD04 turbos available now when years back there was only 15G class turbos available. Couple that with the age of these cars. Do you not expect a 20 year old car with fatigued aluminum not to further propogate cracks between grain boundaries especially grain size differences because we all know cast aluminum isn't going to be uniform? Every time over the years the drivetrain has been shocked it will create intergranular crack initiation and propogation. You can't tell me that most of the 3S's haven't been beat on during their lifespan. That only makes it worse. There's only so much you can do to slip the clutch and spin the wheels. Those cracks on a microscopic level won't stay small forever.

Our cars don't have zerk fittings so a "chassis lube" means NOTHING.

Dude, since you're obviously SO much fucking better than all of us, why do you still troll here and 3si with your incessant garbage? Every post you make is more bullshit about how great you are and how much we all suck. We get it, you are god, your car, and more importantly, you, are far superior beings than the rest of us. So GTFO and let us be.

OK, so back on topic. Yes a mortal man for sure. Although I did not drag race, (broke again) I did pass Ray on the straits while on the road course. He was not in his car but driving a fine VR4 none the less. He said he did everything he could to stop My NA from getting around him and than he could not keep up. A clean pass around Ray with an NA will be my clame to fame. LOL. This does not make him look bad as I think his first road course. But this was on the strait away. But My NA eats lots of VR4s,. so nothing new. I did not know it was Ray untill he told me later.
