If you open the car and toss the keys onto the passenger seat that's far enough away from the sensor that it will lock the car again. I'm extremely tempted to just rip it out.

This, the prox sensors are behind metal or just not in a good place.

What are good places to mount the antenna(s)?
Antennas should be mounted on a Non-Enclosed and Non-Metallic material such as clear glass or plastic trim panels. Recommended placements for the Front-Antenna is on the top-left corner of the front windshield and bottom-left corner of the rear windshield for the Rear-Antenna. The Bypass-Antenna can be placed around the edge of the front windshield so it can sense the Bypass Transponder Card within one inch away from outside of the vehicle. Do not place antenna in locations that will be shield by metallic material.

Duct tape. Thanks, I'll take my rep in the form of tequila ;D

In all seriousness, could you use like a finishing washer and then just trim the sides/rounded areas off to fit? Pictures are a bit too low quality to really come up with a solution ATM (or maybe my brain is low quality tonight courtesy of vodka.) If I get enough progress made the next few days moving, maybe I can swing by to harass you and check it out.
