Have you pulled the balancer? I always have, & I think it's a must for wiggle room. Before you pull CC on the bolt, make sure the T belt is tight or use a 2-pin balancer lock bar as theres a possibility that you could skip the belt on the crank which could be confusing for diagnosing the issues.
I actually pull my engine using the front motor mount bracket and the rear transmission mount bracket. I put the chain across those and yank it right out.
It definitely helps if you pull the balancer.
I've never pulled the balancer. I'll try that next time.
Well, I found a black driver side door I can buy to replace the one I have. (someone backed into my car awhile back)

Yeah, I already pulled the balancer. I don't have air tools so I figured I better get it out while I could wedge it with Ohnoo's special tool. Also confirmed 100% that timing is fine.
Went by and visited mine at the paint shop then went and bought a load leveler for when I finally get to drop the motor back in. Oh and I picked up the engine wiring harness so that I can clean up some of the wires that I mutilated at the ECU end back when I had a SFC-II. Getting ready for the flash ECU, yea.
There is one ps pump bolt that sucks! I wanted a stick of dynamite about ten minutes into fighting it. I just got the Ohnoo tool for assembly as well. Pulled it out with no issues with the balancer on, but had Nathan help, and the ratchet strap. Plus one for tightening as you go. It will have a good amount of weight, and be a bitch to loosen in the air.
Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I know EXACTLY which PS bolt you mean. I gave up on it like three times and finally got a 1 1/4 inch galvanized pipe to put over the box end wrench. That pipe is like my favorite tool right nowI can't imagine doing the pull with the PS still bolted up though, the clearance is some damn tight in there.
You have to have it on a tilt. I've pulled a few engine/transmission combos with the balancer and the PS pump both still attached. Hell I think I even did it with the Tcase on the one (maybe both TT's).
