Ok, thanks for the input.
I started to pull the downpipe to swap in a 3.5" high flow cat but only had an hour to work on it so I only got it pulled off. I noticed I had a leak at the rear 02 housing so I'm going to beat my flange a little to square it up.
I bought various things for it to keep things rolling with the transmission overhaul and general rebuilding process of the car...One perk of not currently having a g/f, haha!

cancel that, didn't put the stupid plate on so now I have to pull the trans, clutch and flywheel. When I realized what I did I felt like my dog got hit by a car. So today was totally fucking wasted. I'm back to square one, actually I'm behind because I haven't pulled the clutch and flywheel. I'm seriously pissed and disheartened! Not sure why, I've done dumb shit before but this time I really just want to shoot holes in the car. Maybe because the trans went in easier than any trans I've ever done. With the luck I've had lately I might just shoot the damn thing.
Put the brackets back on the engine and started changing valve stem seals
Sounds like the day I had with my TSI several years ago. I was replacing the engine due to massive blow by, and trans at the same time because of a broken/bent 3/4 shift rail. I wanted to replace the lightweight flywheel with the one that came with the engine. I bolted my clutch to the flywheel, then started sliding the "new" AWD trans on only to realize it was a FWD flywheel, which is bigger and therefor the trans wouldnt fit. I slid it all back apart, took my clutch off, swapped the flywheel, bolted my clutch back on, slid it all together, started bolting it up only to realize the friggin backing plate was different. I had to take the trans back off, the clutch back off, the flywheel back off, just to swap the backing plate. That day SUCKED.
