I used this when I rejoined mine:

    Walker 35959 Hardware Sealing Compound

I bent my clamp back and smothered this stuff on real heavy, clamped it back down and wiped the excess into the outer seals. I also cut off a little rise up on the clamp to get a tighter squeeze on the slip joint beforehand.

Dremal with a cutting wheel made quick work of it:

Have any other questions, let me know

Hmm maybe i just need to tighten it more. I wrapped the front section with fiberglass tape a few times, maybe it needs some more layers of tape to seal up on the rear section sliding over it.
Whatever that factory fiber/material is on the inside of the rear section is crooked and overall in bad shape. I added an inch to the rear section hoping it would slide on farther and seal up. I will probably loosen it and see if i can slide it a little farther back but the tips are in the perfect position right now, i dont want them sucked under the rear bumper.
Anyways, it wont be a thing of/when i do my side exit i have dreamed about for awhile.

Hey Brian! I was just catching up on your new build thread. Looks like it's coming along!

Driver side, the rearward most section of the rocker panel. Oval tubing, at least when we 90 degree it towards the rocker. Maybe 2 inline magnaflow 3"i.d/4"o.d mufflers or some vibrant race mufflers. Dad is a welder and can do whatever. I was worried that the rear bumper would look funny with no tips in the exhaust area but it looks normal, actually.

What sort of weight savings, Nathan?

So is the plan to bring it out below the side skirt or through the side skirt?

If I'm picturing it correctly I think it will.
