i found out that the reason my coolant is leaking is the worst spot, the head gasket. looks like i have to get ready for a big project of timing belt, gaskets, and anything else i can do while the whole things apart.. yay!

ive already planned on doing the lifters, valve stems, 120k maintenance, light crank pulley, cam gears, maybe a better radiator. any other good things to tackle while im doing this?

    I think you covered it.

Just I'd do without the lighter crankpulley, personally. The heavier dampened one is there to reduce crank vibrations, thus protect your bearings. Some say it's not needed. I'd say better safe than sorry.

not really familiar with the dampened pulleys. ill look those up.

of course the shop didnt charge the second look but the estimate for just head gasket and timing belt service was $3100...... plus they would be doing alot of restorative things in it too like replacing old hoses . i kinda knew id be coming into a restoring/modding project all at the same time . with 108k miles its getting to that point.

i know i can do the stuff myself but i have no garage and i would tackle this over several days. ive actually been considering finding a DIY carport design online so i can buy the raw materials and even doing that would save me money on taking it to a shop and keeping it protected.. i would take it to ninja but chris told me he is backed up for months and am waiting on a response from 3sx.

but there is always good news after the bad...i put a shiny new diamond star emblem on my 93 3kgt!
