This is an interesting find. My Bell SMIC's (4.5x8x8.1) flow 683cfm each so that's a total of 1366cfm. I just looked up a Treadstone TR1245 and here's the specs on it. 4.5" core, 1469 CFM flow rate, 1000hp efficient, 1.5psi drop
Very interesting to say the least. Just might test it out myself when I make a set for that customer.

Whenever money is being kind to me i will definitely be hitting you up for them if they prove to work for higher power levels. Would be with 2.5" outlets. I don't have any doubt that they will. The 300zx people push twin smic's over 700hp. LS people get very very high power with twins as well. Here's Z1's 300zx kit

I believe piping size and airspeed can have a huge effect. I need to pull out my maximum boost book......

That would be very difficult getting a 2 1/2" pipe down on the drivers side without some difficulty. Same with routing it under to the Y. When I start to look at doing this I can tell better.

Story is a weeeeebit different with an LS engine in the bay though

That said, the real concern would be heat soak, not sure at what point that becomes an issue for folks. Unless someone who road courses is going to go out there and flog the shit out of their car with IAT probes throughout the IC system, it's hard to say. I'd wager a TD05 or a T3/T4 car is going to be more efficient anyhow vs a TD04 car as far as boost vs heat generated. Would also need to account for whether or not the turbos on any car are in their efficiency zones.

I'd say for the average street car or drag car, you honestly may not notice a difference between the two. I suspect it'd likely take multiple back to back to back runs on a drag strip or autocross before most would start to see actual effects of heat soak.

I think the smics would flow well enough. Only thing we need is proper ducts for the bigger smics. I think it's extremly important. Otherwise half of the air just escapes through the sides of the smics. With ducting The air has nowhere to go but being forced through the smic.

Proper designed ducts in fg or cf like this I mean

When I designed my large Bell SMIC's I made sure they retain the stock air ducts.

Didn't ray make his big dr750 power numbers through the stock intercoolers? Obviously that doens't take into account multiple street pulls but the flow is there at least.

If i end up going side mounts I may make my own ducting as I will have a 99 bumper and it seems like i will be able to steal more air from the side vents than in a 97 style.

He never had stockers int here. At first he had the Almo smic's in there but never liked them. He upgrade to my Bell SMIC's since then.
