This was an engine that I pulled out of a wrecked 94 I purchased to part out. The heads were re-manufactured and I believe it was probably the shops shoddy work that was the cause of the gouges. Over half of the valve springs were installed upside down and the cam caps were over-torqued IMO. I have a solid tensioner from Ninja and a power Kevlar belt I want to use on the motor when I am building it, but I am debating just using a hydraulic tensioner with the Kevlar belt.

Pulled the transfer case to fix a leak. input seal had a kink so had to put a new one in. Took the casing all apart and ran it through the blast cabinet to clean it all up while waiting on the seal to come in. painted the center section and clear a the rest to help keep it clean. Got the seal in today from Ninja, all back together and should be able to reinstall it tomorrow.

Then I'll be pulling it out of the garage and pulling the trailer in. Going to try and knock out some work on it before it rusts to death sitting outside...LOL

    Check it out on Youtube!!

Here is the leak in the input seal if that is what you were talking about:

I kept thinking it was from the rear turbo drain or something above it. Finally pulled the x-case and found that little crease in the seal.

No pics of it all back together. Nothing special really. Clear coat just helps keep dirt and crap seeping into the aluminum's pores and staining it.

Yeah I thought mine was the transmission but the fluid wasn't red like the MT85. That seal damage is pretty subtle in the pic.
