I got the intermediate drivers side shaft today, got it installed, went for a test drive, and the noise is still there..... So I'm just going to drive it at NG and it will either get worse to the point I can locate what the hell is making the damn noise or it will go away!! So car runs and drives fine, just sounds like shit after driving it a little while....

    Check it out on Youtube!!

Sure the dust boots on the shaft aren't touching anything? Check the t-case?

That's one of the most frustrating things ever. You think you have a problem figured out. You get all excited when you get the parts to fix it. Then the noise is still there. It makes you want to rage.

Checked any nothing touching... Checked the T-case fluid level and topped it off. Input shaft and spool and brand new, probably have less than 200 miles on them. Ninja Spool and shaft.

Wondering if it is bearing noise in the trans. I have always had a weird noise in the trans for the last 4-5 years and could never figure it out. Was going to send it to Chris after NG for rebuild anyways. It is weird that when I first start driving it is completely quiet. after about 5 miles is when the noise starts happening and only when the car is moving and in gear. I had all 4 wheels off the ground and let it run in gear and no noise at all...

At this point the car is going as is. I leave at like 5 am this Saturday as I'm driving to my Bro house in Southern Ill for a couple days, then heading to KY on Tuesday as it is only a couple hours from his house. I'm full packed with tools and everything I need just in case. So I may do some wrenching there or just drive it till she blows!!!!

Still have ECS? My mystery shukshukshuk noise (which sounds like its coming from DS firewall area), quietens down quite a bit on tour- FWIW

Greg, I'll throw out this possibility: compressor pulley slipping around the housing itself where it is pressed on. Comes from overtightening the AC belt.

I removed the compressor clutch assembly completely so it is just the pulley bolted to the housing now. Tried with 2 different compressors and same noise....

Did a boost leak test just cuz. Going on a road trip with her in the morning

EDIT Took short drive with some new settings on LCDBC that seemed to work, thanks again BlackStealth. But my mid fuel trim seems to insist on 71. Running ARC2 +2 -7 0 +1 550s no known boost leaks on poopdick 91 octane. Anyone else struggle with this? Low trim runs 90-100 but mid and high are usually lower. Have never run Mid Arc2 at anything but -7 cuz I've read that is the only place to run it. Maybe I'll try -8, normally getting 10.6 or so under boost but I haven't boosted much since I haven't driven it much this year.

Bumper swap from the 94 to the 92. Did the crash bar (actual bumper) swap also. Might as well! With a little spit and polish the clear vs non clear red will suffice until i get it painted. Apparently i sliced up the bumper when it was in the garage, huge gouges in there

    Oh well, still looks better!
