First time using it so extensively. Goes down pretty easy with a foam brush, but it's definitely not a flawless finish. Unfortunately with the colder temps and the fact that my car is taking up almost all of my garage, spraying it is out of the question (although should give much much better results.) Don't know I'd even want to try spraying this undercoating, maybe the AG111 top coat that goes over it. Definitely very thick though, already put one coat on the engine block (did the second coat tonight) and now I've put two coats on the visible portions of those suspensions components. Tomorrow I'll flip them over and do the undersides. Gone through about 1/3-1/2 a quart doing these two coats on the block, cross member and the control arms.
Compared to a paint, this is easy to touch up later, however as far as strength and resistance to chipping mine hasn't cured enough to know. Seems very much like a urethane acrylic almost, which if it were would be pretty resistant to chipping, just takes like a month to actually cure. Smell in the house is pretty potent though. Have the window open in the room I'm using, with a fan blowing it out the window. Had I been able to start early enough, I would've had the heater in the garage going and done it out there.
Might help you decide TSB. This was just a brief scratch test with a socket holding thing I had laying around. This after about 8 hours of cure time in 50 degree weather, so I imagine it'll just get stronger. While I could probably literally cut through it using the corner as if it were a razor blade, I think most of the abuse that the suspension and underbody will see will be more abrasion-esque.
Oh and Bryan, what the hell are you doing? We just got the damn powder coat gun lol.
Masterseries Coating. Rust preventatives and covering in the vein of An Eastwood Rust Encapsulator or a POR15. Has a satin black top coat I'll be putting down as well tonight/tomorrow.
Don't worry, still plenty of part to coat.
I dropped my front turbo off at the machine shop to have him remove the rest of the bolt I snapped while pulling it to replace the oil return line. That was lots of fun...
The good news is I determined the source of my smoking issue. I was afraid it was the return lines restricting the turbo and oil coming out the exhaust seal, but the turbine housings were completely dry. Krank vents with no stock pcv was my issue.

Those oil return lines are the devil..
Yeah... I really wish I had gotten new OEM ones when I put it together instead of sticking with the old 3SX ones.
