    Progress on the lower intake...

    IMAG1092.jpg

After sanding yesterday. Because this mostly won't be visible when the engine is assembled, it's not exactly show-quality work. If I couldn't reach it with a flap wheel or roloc disc, it wasn't getting sanded. "deal with it" lol

    IMAG1095.jpg

After black oxide with the big buffing wheel and the, um, mandrel-buff-thing I use in the drill. Hitting the details with the die grinder.

    IMAG1096.jpg

After its bath to remove the black oxide remnants so it's ready for the next step.

Fuel rails, for comparison, already went through the whole procedure a while ago. And I gave a bit more of a damn about sanding them smooth first.

I know what you went through to get that far....Don't forget to seal them so they won't oxidize. I used Shark Hide for mine.

Ok. I have a new SB Stage 4 clutch I'm probably just going to swap in and cough up the Spec as a loss.

You just have to drill out the housing to fit the bulb. It even comes with a grommet. It was pretty easy when I did it 4 years ago with a ddm kit, just had to put a spade connector on the harness.
    Same thing you did, BL?

I'd say that's your best bet. It's what I'd do anyway. I'lll probably go with a SB next time.

I think so. I have to find some transmission gears and sliders first. I'm tempted to just throw a 3rd gear synchro in my 6-speed and get my car running. It was the only gear I had problems with grinding and the gear is perfect. Ray says as long as it wasn't notchy or popping out of gear likely the gears are ok to use. It's hard to draw the line when there's some rounding, chipping, or mushrooming on the backside of the engagement teeth. New parts are $350-550 each which is ridiculous. I'll honestly not enjoy my car if I dump $3k into a tranny rebuild because I won't want to damage it resulting in an expensive rebuild. That takes the fun out of spirited driving.
