What did you do today to your 3/S?

Rear turbo heat shield is the last real obstacle.... I can't possibly imagine what they were thinking with that bottom bolt location.

If you weld two wrenches together to make a super long wrench (like 14") you can reach that bolt from the bottom without doing anything extraordinary.

I always have just used a regular wrench from below. Thanks for confirming how extra ordinary I am!

I just use a ratcheting 12mm wrench, always have

Then again, I can connect the PS electrical connector without removing anything so maybe I'm just crazy..

Yeah, the rear heat shield did not put up much of a fight. I ended up using stubby swivel 1/4 ratchet for the bottom bolt, and 12mm swivel ratcheting wrench for the top two bolts. I didn't think of removing the o2 sensor first and possibly opening up an access hole to get the bottom bolt from above. I did it from under the car and reached in through the wheel well - same way one would access the power steering connections to the rack.

Speaking of power steering rack - removing/reinstalling that is a much bigger pain than anything I encountered on the rear turbo, and I've done it twice.... so. Not bad.

Impact made short work of the turbo nuts.

Agreed with power steering rack being worse than any of the turbo stuff. Rear turbo was easier for me than the front turbo anyway.

Not my car but put a fuel sending unit in a Smart ForTwo. Not as simple as the 3S since the tank has to be dropped, but ultimately not a bad job (about 3 hours total including removing the all the covers). Its only got an 8 gallon tank so it doesnt weigh much and can be installed by yourself without any kind of jack if the car is high enough up in the air (had it on a drive on lift).

I began to sandblast my LCAs, but the gun's tip broke & now I get to wait for my replacement ones to arrive before I can finish them up.

At least later today I'll be picking up the ES parts car I purchased last weekend.
