I did some more powder-coating...This time around I did the T/C's lower coolant line & the intake plenum brace. I still can't get over how quick the entire process is, especially since the part is ready to be handled in about 15 minutes after cooking it...So many more things to coat now!!

Glad mines not the only one lol.

I drove mine like i stole it... between the bov that doesnt leak insane amounts of air at a whopping 3 psi and having two fully working turbos on 15 psi. Id say the car picked up a good 30hp or more

Also tested my theory that AWD Driftz blow turbos..m my conclusion is they dont

So I was raising the boost.. on my hallman and before I was only running 18 psi. Well the instructions say to try .5 to 1 turn at a time and well, "ain't nobody got time for dat", right? So, I went 3 turns thinking that would get me to about 21.

I was giving a co-working a ride this morning and hammered it in 1st and it shot up and hit the rev limiting so hard I must've fouled a plug. It ran rough for about a minute and smoothed out.

So, at lunch I thought I better go do a 2nd gear pull to be sure the motor isn't hurt. It takes off absolutely like a bat out of hell and pulls clean. I did another run and tried to watch the boost gauge and it went up to 25 PSI and settled around 24 or so.

I checked the logs and afr's are great with no knock. I was going to go a little slower up to this much boost, but I guess I'm already there.

I hit 193 peak load on my 427AWHP virtual dyno and today hit 259 and this is only in 2nd. This turbos spool so fast it doesn't seem to make a difference, so it is great to get the tune close just using 2nd.

A rolling start in 2nd feels like a huge launch used to.
Lol. I remember doing that with my Hallman. I was at around 20-21 psi and decided I was going to turn it up some more so I cranked it a few times. Well, I must have loaded it up pretty good in 2nd or 3rd because I peaked 31.6 psi. Haha. It scared me because I wasn't expecting it but more so because I thought for sure that much power on my stock motor would have busted a 2nd gen piston ring land. Everything was good though and I turned it down to 26-27 psi right away. I never really went past 30 since then but going from 20 to 30 psi is a huge leap in power. It's really fun when you get to turn it up.

Are you having clearence issues with the rear portion of the front subframe and your downpipe. thats where i had issues. I want to make a precat delete pipe that comes down further and turns to the back of the car and connects to the downpipe via vband.... maybe make the front portion of the downpipe and the rest of it all 1 piece.

Sounds a lot like the way I ended up tuning. I was thinking small increments, but ended up jumping from 12psi to 16psi with no problems. Went up small from there.

Sounds like our load numbers would match up, the most I've hit is ~235 on a cold morning, usually 210-220 and it's a huge difference in how it feels.

How is 3rd gear? I've noticed the higher the gear, the more prone to knocking it is (then again, you'll probably never have knock on e85).

Until today I had never seen any knock, but I do get 1-2 counts here and there now, nothing I'm too concerned about. Biggest problem today is I had to dial back the boost or I had spark blowout. I'm really not sure what to do with the ignition system at this point, but I guess I'll gap down to .020, but that shouldn't be necessary. I wonder if my HKS DLI is dead.

Ignore the boost plot. The curve may be correct, but it is somewhat low, in the neighborhood of 3-4-5 PSI in places. The scaling is wrong. I took a video earlier I'm going to try to see what the boost really is:

Pretty close to where I need to be. If I can get the ignition to deal with 3-4 more psi I should be okay.

oh and for those wondering about the consistency of the virtual dyno software:

After the 480 run I turned the boost controller up .25 turns (different stretches of road).

Finally got the front turbo removed and drivers side half shaft off. Reassembly tomorrow.

Old 9b has Zero shaft play, in any direction. I'm replacing it as I suspect it is the cause of burning oil. I hope I'm right.
