Thread: What did you do today to your 3/S?

    Did a nice launch, pulled hard till the top of third, let out of it, and smelled a very strange smell almost like something burning but not exactly.(Very potent smell similar to like moldy hay or something) Pulled over checked under the car, under the hood, and inside to no avail. Got back in and no smell.
    So i figure i had passed something... forgot about it. Got to the top of my hill on the road to my house and i smell it again.... same thing can't pinpoint it, and it goes away fast, and only does this under a hard load. WTF?

    Ive only got like 2500 miles on the current stage 3. And it doesn't really smell like clutch. I thought of that first cause the launch lol. Idk it could be though. But i had the tranny out less than 300 miles ago to install the quaiffe, and everything looked tip top on the clutch.

    bet its the clutch. If you rode it too much on a launch you will glaze that bastard too

    you'll have to post proof that one makes the other. i see nothing but bunk on many different forums regarding that issue.

    and fwiw, there's plenty of threads about megans leaking too. and to top it off, i've had ZERO problems with d2's.

    I cleaned my replacement injectors that I got from Tryingtobebest & then checked the continuity on them (which shows that these things are balanced MUCH better than my old set).

    Then I did this...

    I'm waiting on some parts to come in to vband my front dn precat eliminator and install a flex on my downpipe between the banks, so I wanted to fire the car up today to be sure the rod bearings are installed correctly and that the oil pump would reprime (I replaced the pickup) Just cranked on it for 2 10 second bursts or so with the ECI fuse pulled and the oil pressure light went out. I put the fuse back in and it fired right up. Good oil pressure and I can't hear any bearing noise, although it would be hard over the open precats I'm running right now

    I ran it until it for about 5 minutes, going to change the oil again once the garage clears of exhaust smell.
