Buttoned up a few things on the 92 VR-4 and sent it off with the new owner. It's nice having an extra stall in the garage now. Should make the 5-speed swap a little easier.

removing my oil pan to get the ips pan on. Unfortunately the stock pan will not clear the dn front precat when removing it. I'm debating just cutting it and using a band muffler clamp because there is a bit of mis-alignment with my downpipe anyway and it is leaking at the flanges. really need a flex section between the banks to fix it, but cutting the precat and using a clamp may take care of it and make the pan simple to removal.
I'd hate to have to remove the precat everytime I want to take the pan off.

Thought about how loud, Ugly, Obnoxious, and slow it is...and said to my self, man I'd love to be driving it right now...

well I cut the precat elim and got the pan off. Pulled the number 4 rod cap and the bearing was almost perfect. I stared at it about 15 minutes before I decided to not put it back in. Put the clevite in and it plastigauged out to .0015. That was with lube in the upper shell because it is harder/less safe to put the upper shell in with the motor in without lube. Still a good reading. If the rest of the rod bearings look this good I'll replace them, but I think I'll leave the main girdle alone. Installing the mains with the engine in sucks.
Cylinder cross hatch is very visible still. 95,000 miles.

yeah been there plenty of times
Just a normal sunday night.
