The issue I ran into after filling up the tank with E85 though was that I get bad misfires at anything but cruising. Before when I had the projected tip plugs and 550 injectors it didn't misfire. After swapping the injectors and plugs it started doing this so I'm going to check those first. I'm trading the 550s for 720s in case things don't work. I will be keeping the 1000s for the flashed ECU and ethanol use though. So yeah I have to figure out why my car is having issues because the misfire is crazy bad. The exhaust would sometimes pop and there's definitely hesitation. Thankfully I was able to just cruise it across town home from the gas station.
Oh shit. How much fuel pressure does it have?? I only got to drive mines once since I did the switch. I took it to 4500 to 5K and I don't recall any missing for me but I didn't stomp on it and my turbos weren't even spooled yet lol. Damn I need to get mines running so we can compare.

Blackey, get them to send that sheet. I want a peak at the power curve.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I have the stock FPR. I don't have upgraded lines but I will buy some soon. I have the AFPR and electronic fuel gauge from my previous setup so I'll get those hooked up when I buy the lines. My AFR doesn't lean out or anything. I'm getting enough fuel. It's definitely a misfire because I can even hear it at idle or cruising. It isn't really bad until I give it more throttle than that. I'll try swapping the plugs first, then wires, coils, PTU, fuel filter, etc until I figure out the issue. It may just be that the ARC-2 can't handle 1000s on ethanol since it is load based, advances the timing for bigger injectors, and just may not be able to work correctly even though in theory it should. I will have some 720s to try soon if that's the case. I swapped out multiple things at once which will just take a little more troubleshooting to figure out the problem. I'll let you know though. I may get some dyno numbers first before I swap in the flashed ECU.

What's your AFR look like? Too rich and e85 will "misfire" easily.

Oh and in the spirit of the thread...MTC received my turbos to be looked over and I sent my FIC 1350s out to be cleaned and flowed. Last things that haven't been double checked on my build.

Fixed the slop in my shifter, swapped to flash ECU, and took her to a GTO meet (Holdens, not Mitsus...) with a bunch of friends.

The source of most of my shifter slop. There are supposed to be 2 plastic bushings here, but all I had was a pile of 1990 plastic dust and a gap to fill. This was causing lots of left-right slop since this arm connects the shifter to the select (left-right) cable.

So I made my own bushing out of this brass hose barb. The ID was already a match, so I turned down the OD freehand on the bench grinder, then cut it to length. The dead plastic bushings also had collars on them, so I used an additional washer to take up the endplay. It's a nice fit now.

Reinstalled the shfiter base in the car with aluminum floor bushings, and Seattle shifter. (Made the fun discovery that one can get the shifter base out without removing the floor console if the radio and ECU are removed.)

Still need to install brass bushings at the trans next time I have the MAS and IC pipe out of the way.

    Attachment 4345

And finally installed the SmokinVR4 (is that name still a dirty word?) shifter ring I've had laying around for years.

    Attachment 4349

And cleaned up the engine bay. It'd been a while. Can't go to a meet with a dirty bay.

I'll have to keep my eye out for that next time the shift boot is up... And I like the smokin' shift ring! Clean engine bay.

Thanks! Here's the parts diagram. I was fortunate to have the right size brass barb laying around waiting to be mangled into something else.

Swapped out my leaky oil cooler line for another one. Must've been a bad fitting. Hans made me a brand new one when I stopped at the shop. Tomorrow I'll throw it on the lift at work and check up on it. Also got a thumbs up from a clean wrx on the way to the gym.
