They were in rough shape. That powdercoating was not holding up well had alot of small scratches amd had some flaking going on in the lug holes, my friend is re powder coating them for me for 125$. I told him id strip them to keep price down.
Dont get me wrong I loved how they looked. But the months of abuse were showing.
IDK if your friend will be able to do a much better job than original. With powder it's really hard to get a good coat down in the lug hole area because it's attracted to all the metal that is before there. It can be a real pain to get decent coats in small places. Combine that with the dings you get while putting a lug wrench in there and it's possible to get flakes. Plus it's real hard to properly strip/sandblast down there. Not that it's not possible to get a good coat though. Good luck.

Painted wheels for,till I get them powdercoated. Advanced base ign timing. Cleaned up tsil lights, gave it a bath, installed push,start button bcuz race car
changed rear diff fluid (holy metal filings), filled tranny with generic GL4 snot for break in, and ran it on the stands to warm up all the fluids.
