    can I run open turbos

I have 19t's and now I'm using the gm maf and tranlator in blow through. Can I run without any filter or pipes coming off the turbos or is this a bad idea.

Personally, I would never run a street car without some form of filter. If it was track only, maybe.

Its a bad idea. You need some sort of filter. Do you really want to chance a piece of dirt fucking up your turbos?

Yea, I remember that. They need some form of tube to "guide" the flow of air into the inlet so it can get the most efficient supply.

You can do it without issue, i ran that way for 20k miles on the 9bs, however its not somtheing i would recommend, there is still a risk. However when i went to the track, i ran intake pipes up through the front bumper, and they make a difference for sure.

I forgot to put them in the first couple passes on the last time out with the car and i think i was trapping 124ish. With the intakes in i got in a few passes with 127mph traps.

yeah, i wouldn't do it on anything other than a track car. even then, i'm sure open turbos causes some kind of "vortex" effect without a pipe to it.
