Believe me, I know. I got rear ended 6 years ago and my insurance co tried to total it. Fortunately, I dealt with the other guys insurance and they paid to fix it. The car's a garage queen now, it only comes out on nice, sunny, mostly weekend days, so I'm not too worried.

I keep full coverage on it even though I drive it less than 1000 miles a year. I think Hagerty requires the car to be at least 20 years old. (Not sure about that though)

nope. I got pricing on my 95 Spyder through Hagarty. I ended up going with aftermarket coverage through Progressive, for an agreed value. Same price for the year, however I was not limited in mileage, etc.
Circa 2005... Oh my, how far I've come

With Hagarty, for $30k worth of coverage, at 26, it was like $1500/year. Not TOO bad I guess, that's roughly what I pay with progressive, except progressive allows monthly installments (which works better for me). Probably cheaper if you're older and with better credit

I would say screw Hagerty. I called them about my Stealth and my GTC. I was told that my cars weren't worth their time to insure as they didn't have a package for them. I called Grundy who doesn't give a shit what it is. They will insure it for what you want and they have no mileage limits. To insure my GTC for $14k it was just under $300 annually. As soon as the Stealth is in a garage it will be insured with them as well.

As for the value, when my GTC turned 20 the value more than doubled. Which seems to be the same thing that has happened here. I can live with that. Doesn't matter as I never cared what is was worth to anyone else.

Will need to check with Grundy, with Hagerty, I couldn't prove that the car was worth their minimum insured value.

Yeah, as far as I know, Grundy will insure it as long as you can prove it's worth what you're saying it is.

So, if things stay the same the value of my car will almost triple in the next 9 months. Good thing i didn't sell it.
