    My Custom Door Sills

I just finished up one side of my Door sill design and can't keep it to myself. Hope you don't think it's too much. LMK

I could probably get you the sill plates and the lights. But, it really takes them being done ON the car to make sure the holes in the body are in the correct spot. There is no room for error. You have to cut out part of the car sill area to mount the light inside the body.
When I do the driver's side, I'll take some pics to show what you have to do.

The first thing I did was to tape off both the stock door sill and custom sill. I then reinstalled both sills (I cut out the tape on the 3 and the T) and put a light coat of paint over both of them to use as a guide when I cut the body of the car and the stock door sill.
I then uses a straight edge and marked on the stock sill where the outside edge of the hole should be cut. I then used a cutting wheel and cut out the hole leaving it on the small side (it's easier to trim the hole bigger with a box knife than to make it too big, coz you can't add to it).

I then used the hole in the factory sill to mark the hole in the body and cut it with a cutting wheel.

I cleaned a 19 inch flexible light strip and the inside of the body with brake cleaner, removing any dust and debris. The light was attached using 2-sided tape to the upper part of the body.

I then wired the light bar into the courtesy lights that are located near your feet by the door. When you wire the LED's in you have to make sure it's wired pos. to pos. and neg. to neg. or the LED's won't work.

I removed my glovebox to get the light out. My hands are too big to get into alot of places under the dash area. And since I am getting ready to strip the interior for a complete makeover, it was an easy decision to pull it.

I think that's it, if I'm remembering everything.

BTW, I talked to my Door Sill guy and if I got enough interest, I could come up with some more sills.

Being that these chassis' are unibody, I'm not so sure the F&F effect is worth comprimising the sill area/torque-box section's integrity. This might have saved you some time & value of your ride Light TapeŽ - Bring your imagination to light!
