bump, anyone?
I had a very similar problem. Dash lights, parkers and tails all went out at the same time. Fuse would blow the moment the lights came on. I wiggled all the wires under the dash and tried to find any burnt wires etc and found nothing. It would however work sometimes for a minute or so then the fuse would bl;ow again so it had to be under the dash or in the side kick panel. I pulled the entire dash out and inspected everything. Found nothing so re-assembled and has been fine ever since LOL.

LOL sounds like your a lucky man Joe!
I hope i'm that lucky.. most likely i wont though :'(
There is no aftermarket alarm. I have the factory alarm.
I pushed my "flip up" headlight button and my dimmer switch shorted out :S... the wiring to the dimmer switch seems fine, nothing was melted.
my friend said it could be a bad spot in the wire? Would could mean virtually anywhere in the harness.
I'm attempting to remove my dash today, using the instructions on Stealth 316. I might even replace all the wires for the dimmer switch.
I already have the center console removed. This gives me a perfect time to wire up my deck properly, so its not just a mess of wires. *rolls eyes*
Get a wiring diagram and start doing voltage drop tests. That will quickly tell you if there's a problem.
Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.
Continuity is good for testing for an open. A voltage drop test will indicate resistance in a live circuit. Basically, you're looking for LESS than .3V between a path (wire). If your meter reads more than that through any one path, that wire needs replacement.
okay which option do i use on my cheap walmart multi-meter?
