    car suddenly speeds up

I am having another problem with my 91 Stealth ES, when accelerating the car will suddenly get a boost of acceleration even though my foot is steady on the gas pedal. It just seems to pick up like its had a sudden boost of power.
I hope that makes sense, any ideas?

I know if your cruise control is malfunctioning it can cause your car to suddenly speed up as you described, as it's happened to me before. Simple fix though, replace cracked/ torn vacuum lines or disable the system all together. However, you said you have an ES and I can't remember if those have cruise control or not. If your car does I'd start there though.

You should check the throttle cable and make sure it's not binding. Disconnect it from the throttle body and see if it moves in and out with ease. If it's catching at some point, it might slowly work it's way out while your driving, causing the unexpected speed up.

That's exactly my point your cruise control may be broken. It connects up to your throttle so if it's malfunctioning it can cause many issues.

I have not had the chance to look at the car yet however I have a another problem I think is related to this problem.
When I first start the car in the morning I have to drive up a hill on my way to work, this road is a 55 speed limit and I am lucky to get to 30mph as the car will not accelerate up the hill even when I floor the accelerator. If I unplug the MAF the car will go up the hill no problem, I have tried a different MAF with the same number but it still does the same thing with the MAF plugged in.

    Any ideas?

It happened to me when I got those DR750's installed.

Could it be the voltage on the TPS that is unstable ?
