Yes you will want hood pins. I run the sparco ones on my car, but there are plenty of options out there. I wouldnt trust any hood besides stock with just the latch. I have seen to many times where people even just going highway speeds have had hoods fluy open on them because they didnt use pins.

Fiberglass and carbon fiber are strong but also brittle. Everytime you slam the hood you weaken it, and at some point that little metal hook will loosen up.

I ran a CF hood on a neon I had reached some above highway speeds often you could see it moving, w/o pins... Would never do it again, your risking safety, the hood and the windsheild just for looks... plus like Austin said there are a lot of options out there some that you barely notice are there.

Go with the Aerocatch. They can be painted body color I believe and they mount flush which I like. I plan to get some when I decide on a hood for my 2g conversion

I was going to have mine painted body color (I obviously had the hood painted on both sides ), but I do A LOT of highway driving and was afraid that they would suffer the same fate as most hoods do (road rash).
I didn't want to have to paint them every couple years, so I just left them black. I painted the inside of the viper duct black, so it doesn't look too terrible...
