    carbon overlaying wheel spokes

i got the wheels back at the weekend after getting some cracks on the rims welded so i started to buff them down and prep them up for the refurb 8-)
painted a base coat of black on the spokes ready for the carbon. so tonight got in from work and marked out a square sheet of carbon cloth and cut it ready to lay on the spokes. layed up the resin on one wheel and had my dinner about an hr later it was tacking up so i could sart to carefully lay on th ecarbon and cut and wrap as i went. thats one wheel ready to trim tommorow before laying up another 4 layers of surfboard resin on top, then the sanding begins
after that i will blend in some custom paint i have in mind(about 3 different layers of different effects) around the rims and edges of the spokes, the carbon will show on the frot of the pokes and fade to paint around the edges.then it will be fit the tyres, touch up any damaged paint and 3-4 coats of laquer, job done will take a while but should be worth it in the end

Nice one man, I recently thought about putting fake carbon vinyl wrap over my chrome volks to see how it looked but never got around to it. Look forward to the final outcome...

Might be because it will throw the balance off. Hopefully the tire shop will be able to balance them. It might not be a big deal but I would be a bit concerned about it.

    It's looking good though

Does anyone know where the supplies can be purchased for things like this, I've been interested in overlaying some CF on a few parts but can only find vinyl CF not actual CF and what kind of resin is used?
