Seriously. Check out DB Schenker USA. I just ran a quick quote based on a NYC ZIP and the first Portland TX ZIP I found based on 250 lbs and even with lift gate at pick up and delivery it was still only $235. If you could avoid the lift gate somehow you could save $35 for the pick up and another $35 for the delivery. DB Schenker bought out Bax Global. Its a worldwide company.

I will give them a call right now.

I looked earlier but I didn't see an area to get a quote. Tho I was busy at the time when I was looking around.

    Thanks

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

Wow, those are some amazing prices.

Here are my quotes I just received.

    Residential Drop-Off --- 222.93

Or if I get it dropped off at my work it would be 152.93

i would NEVER ship anything fedex or ups that weighed > 50lbs. period.

if i can buy a used transmission and have it shipped to my door for $300; there's plenty of options out there.

Honestly, I used to ship 35-50 packages a day through UPS. They ranged in weight from 3lbs to 150lbs. They consider >70lbs to be heavyweight and I usually averaged about 10 heavyweights a day. In 4.5 years of shipping we only had about 5 claims we had to file due to damaged goods. UPS is not as bad as people try to make them out to be.

it's not the damage i'm worried about. it's the fact that if i show up with something >50lbs; it requires me to drop trou & (if i'm lucky enough) lube up.

The rates aren't really that bad either unless you are shipping coast to coast.

I bought a fully forged 3.1L shortblock too - if it weighs 250 lbs, I'm a WHOLE lot stronger than I thought. I think its about the weight of a trans - both are annoying to move, but not impossible.

Anyway, if you still need an estimate, pm Mike @ C3motorsports - he shipped me the shortblock I bought, and it arrived safely.

I received my block today, and it weighed 183lbs, the total cost of shipping from NY to TX was only $127. I am very happy about this and again I thank you Stealthee and everyone else for the help.
