    Gauge question

I am pulling the center cluster since the car is down. I got some nice overlays for the main cluster and was going to install them on the center ones also but then I decided that crap pillar pod was pissing me off so I figured I would move my boost gauge to the stock location. Since I am moving it I might as well put something in that reads numbers on it instead of just slashes for the oil press and water temp.

Now I am on a very tight budget. I don't have 200.00 per gauge to spend, otherwise I would consider a set of Defi or AEM to stick in there. I am avoiding STRI or Prosport. I will prolly go AutoMeter. I like the looks of the cobalt but full sweep is 200 a piece. The short sweep would go nicely and I could turn them and leave the stock plastic over the top of them. I don't need to know my oil press down to the .1 but I would like to be close within a couple of pounds. Same with the temp.

The question would be.. Is the short sweep as accurate as a 270 full sweep?

Again the budget is tight enough 2 70.00 gauges will put me almost over.

    Thanks
    Brandon

autometer is awesome. milt is running all phantom gauges in his car, and i'm running a phantom mechanical boost gauge.

i'd see if you can find used...

If money is that tight and the car is down anyway why buy gauges now? Why not save a little and get the gauges you want?

Hopefully the last of the engine parts will be here next week. I can get her back on the road and having a good water temp and oil pressure over what the cluster gauges give would be nice. I can always upgrade later. I'll go with the short sweep and go from there unless someone comes in with a good reason not to trust them.

Thanks I went with 2 electric short sweep. Going to mod the old gauge pod and turn them sideways so they sit in like the stock gauges only work better and give some information
