I first tried just an opening where the crash bar was kinda like Bill Buels but a little smaller. Thought some kind of grill set in behind it would work. Cut it 25" but the only expanded metal I could find was 24"s. I went to a local salvage yard to see if there was some other grill front I could modify to fit in the whole to. a. Hide all the junk and cut edges. b. give more of a factory look. Found several that might have worked but opted for simplicity at this time. Decided to just cut it all out trying to reverse match the angle of the bottom part. I will probably take it off later and fiberglass in a lip going around it to make it look factory. Still like the idea of some kind of mesh covering. Cleaner plus really don't like the inter cooler taking the brunt of an debris.

used drill to make the corner starting wholes. Grinder with cut off wheel. Hack saw blade and jig saw.
Jig saw turned out to work best.

Here is a new pic of my dsm. I cut the front bumper for better airflow to the intercooler and radiator and tranny cooler. I had my doubts and I thought cutting the bumper always looks like crap but I am very pleased with the outcome. I cut it with a razor blade/box cutter and put the trim around the inside of the hatch on the bumper.

The bumper cutting is pretty symmetrical to the bumper but I mounted the FMIC a little off centered. And the part of the fmic core that is now exposed is greasy and neewds to by hosed down. But Overall I think form and function improved.
