Question Tie rod end - can we order locally?

What about NZ? We snapped mine yesterday. Put it upside down then tried to get it out and snapow!

I'll call around Perth tomorrow but wanted to check and see if anyone had ordered locally. I know the TT's are different from the N/A's so that rules out getting a Magna version.

tt's are different from n/a? i think that only applies to stock. and i think they're technically interchangeable.

the ones i ordered from rock auto went on my n/a just fine. they also worked fine after i did the 2g tt brake conversion. i ordered the ones i did specifically because i wanted a zerk fitting.

Thanks Mike. I wanted them today or tomorrow and not in a week or two that;s why I was looking locally.

I checked 3sx's website and they had two different versions, that's what I was going off. The guys at Pedders didn't ask if mine was N/A or TT so I would assume you are correct.

Just looking at the old tie end and the new one, the thread size is definitely different. The newer one is thinner. Will that matter?

    Ok.....

I tried to atleast put the new one in the hole and it felt ok, but shirley it's size specific as far as the bolt going thru the end of the rod?

guess i should mention that i was talking about the FRONT tie-rods. i honestly don't know if the n/a's had different tie-RODS than the tt's, but the tie rod ENDS bolted up to the 2g tt knuckles without issue--just as they had with the n/a knuckles.

Went back to Pedders today to cross reference the part with another. Turns out the tie rod end where the rod screws in is also not correct. Not sure how they have the GTO and the 3000GT in the book for this part. Maybe the Oz delivered version? Who knows. I also asked them to try the 1st Gen Diamante and the part number for that is the same as the part listed for the 3000GT/GTO so not sure what's going on there. They are taking my broken end to the warehouse on Monday to physically find me a match. What's another weekend without the shitbox running anyways.
