Easy Off Oven Cleaner for Removing car paint.

So I need to remove some paint on my body panels and was wondering if this actually would work. I read this article and it seems convincing and I was wondering if anyone else could chime in.

I used Easy off inside my house before we moved in. It took off some really thick stuff. I am not sure if it will take off car paint.. but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

This is the best you can get off the shelf. I'm not so sure how well paint will stick afterwards if you don't clean it well though.

Why do you want to completely remove paint in the first place. Having a layer of old paint down is a good base for new paint to stick to,.

Also, before you put any kind of paint remover or equivalent product on any panels make sure you test a small area in an out of the way hidden place.

The last thing you want to do is apply something to a plastic panel only to find out that it melts it. Some paint removers are very strong and will melt some plastics. Most will not harm metals as most come in a metal can but they never come in plastic bottles that I know of.

Go slow.

Well this was just an idea and thanks for the input, I decided to take my car into the body shop for 2 stage black paint.

Do not use oven cleaner, that shit is strong. I've been warned not to use it on wheels as it will continue to eat away at the aluminum even after you think youve cleaned it off. I dont have anything else to support that, but I didnt want to take the chance.

What is good for stripping paint off rims? IDK if I want black rims on a black car.
Would Aircraft stripper work with out damaging the rims?
