New gauges, short shifter and boots.

My old gauges had some of the diodes burn up in the heat of Memphis during the '09 NG, so I had been looking for some replacements. I wanted digital and decided on these glow shift gauges.
Wired up the oil temp sensor and all the rest of the new gauges. Let's hope these last longer than the set I had before.

Also ordered a new leather shift boot and e-brake boot from gottagetashiftboot.com (yes, that's really the name) It's much better made than the Momo universal boots I had before, but they're cut for the stock e-brake handle and shift knob.

The Momo universal e-brake boot. You can see the fit sucks...

Here's the new boot. It's cut just like OEM...

And installed. The Momo e-brake handle is much wider at the base, so I'm hoping it'll stretch a little and then I'll re-install it once it fits over the Momo base.

Here's the original shifter and Momo boot...

    Short shifter installed...

And with the boot and shift knob back on...

So, that's what I did the past two days.

This is totally off topic but wow those seats look new. How long since you upholstered them? I will keep those guys in mind when I get a black boot. Are they the same company that sells the top stitched boots on eBay?

I reupholstered my seats back in 2005, I think. I don't drive the car too much anymore, so they stay new looking. I don't know if that company is the same one on ebay, I ordered from their website. $55 for all leather shift boot and e-brake boot cut to OEM specs.... you can't beat it.

I had Cyberdyne digital gauges before. One day in Memphis, I got in the car and the internal temp gauge said it was 156 degrees in the car. Some of the diodes burned out that day. I wouldn't recommend those gauges. These seem to be better made, the diodes are crisper and not as overwhelming as the Cyberdynes. Since I'm really just using the gauges for show, I'm not too worried if they're off a little. I'm just running a volt meter, an oil temp and an amp temp gauge in the pod.

I got it from 3SX. I took the car out and drove it today and I'm liking the shifter. Takes a little getting used to, but it feels like a different car. I didn't get into it hard though, just took it down to the beach. Hopefully, I won't miss a shift when I drive it hard.

Tasty, looks great. I'll consider them when its time to replace mine (which should have been a while ago )
