    What *IS* Hybrid OBD?

I'm going to start working on hybrid support - but I need your help. Does anyone know exactly what hybrid OBD is? I recall reading years ago that it was the same as OBD1 with an OBD2 port.

Does it have the same baud rate as OBD1? Does it work the same, where you send the address byte you want to poll and it replies with the data?

I also read (in a post by Gatecrasher, who has refused to help :P) that it is an OBD2 port that is MUT2/MUT3 protocol - but I've been unable to find any information on the details of how to poll for data, or what data CAN be polled. Anyone?

I'll say it over here too.

He hasn't refused to help, but why should he give up the information he's worked on decoding, that he spent his own money on to buy the MUT tools, so you can turn it into an app and make money off of it? Why don't you share all your source coding for the app?

Also why not ask the Evoscan guys? Evoscan works JUST fine on a "hybrid" ecu, surely they have figured it out.

The first guy to produce a logger for the "Hybrids" is Chris Dooley (AKA "SHiVeR-91VR4" over at the "other" site).

Don't think he'd be willing to give that info out though (he used my Spyder as his test car)

It's no wonder people don't want to give away information they've spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on tools and hardware to test, or hundreds of hours reverse engineering so that somebody else can make a profit off of it. I'm getting DAMN sick of seeing people try to make money off of enthusiasts information freely donated to the community.

Is there a reason that Gatecrasher SHOULD give you all that info for free, so you can sell software?

I'm not so concerned with selling software as opposed to being able to use it on my own car I barely make anything off the software - why would I care about selling it? It's ironic that people are yelling at me for wanting data *AND* telling me not to charge for software at the same time... no? Ha. Ha.

    I agree with DG.

How much did Gatecrasher charge people when he released his 99 VR4 rom XML?
Or the 99 VR4 rom file?
Or his DIY hybrid logging cable info?
    Or his other ECU info?

How about NOT charging for your software, if you "barely make anything"?

I could answer your question, I have 3 hybrid 3000GTs ... but I won't, because you're trying to make money off of it. So, sorry, you're on your own.
