Thread: Where to find a new clutch master cylinder cap?

  1. #1

Question Where to find a new clutch master cylinder cap?

My clutch pedal is acting up a little bit, and in the process of checking things over, I found that one of the retaining tabs on the clutch master cylinder cap (small white cap right in the back driver's corner next to the firewall) is broken off. This allows the cap to rise up enough that I think the seal is probably breaking. Anyway, where can I get a new cap? I tried Rock Auto and most of the vendors here without finding anything online. Don't really want to have to buy a complete new master. Any suggestions?

You can run without the cap and you wont get air into the system. Air isn't going to get past the fluid.

I forgot to put my cap back on one time and about a week later found the cap laying in the cowl area. Clutch pedal engagement never moved.

    Your issue lies elsewhere.

Yeah, the issue is I need to bleed the system, the stuff in there hasn't been changed in at least three years. But while I'm at it I want to get a good cap, just because I'm that way.

Austin, I'll call you next week as soon as I have a chance. I'm sure I can get a cap from you, or if not, from Hans at GZP with his massive inventory.

    Thanks guys for the help!
