Lower Intake Plenum Question... See Pictures

Hey guys, I am in the process of changing my spark plugs and wires today. After I pulled the plenum I noticed that all runners in the lower plenum seem to be very dirty. Is this normal? Should I clean this out? If, so what should I use? Can I still do it with it installed on the car or should it be removed first?

I'm curious what others say. I have never worried about it in mine. If it makes you feel better be super careful to not drop anything in there and clean it out a little with a rag but it's not doing any damage to your motor if you leave it alone.

Your gasket is no good. Time to upgrade . We have a teflon 3mm thick gasket.wont leak and reusable.
You might want to check your pcv cable and might want to invest in a oil catch can

I used a throttle body cleaner by (CRC) and just pushed everything down with a new toothbrush to where the injectors would spray the left overs with fuel. Once its all put together and you have it started I suggest using a fuel additive that will clean the rest of it out and burn it. There was no problems when I did it. I used a more expensive fuel cleaner BG44K to a half tank of gas (91 octane) although they do recommend a full tank. I wanted a more concentrate solution. After about two tanks of gas I was due for an oil change so I added ZMAX to the fuel and oil. Car is running great now! =)

well if there is oil on the plenum(like on the picture) then the gasket was leaking

True, how much are your gaskets? Web site link? Is this the one that lifts the Plenum and causes the bolts int he rear not to line up? if that's the case then I'll get the OEM gasket.

Im not sure which gasket you are talking about. I am refering to a 1/8 thick teflon upper plenum gasket. It is reusable and stops all leaks just go to my site in my sig
