Do either of you IT guys know how to fix issues related to "windows rot?"

I try to take care of system with CCleaner, Mb, Spybot, and smart browsing. It just seems like once a year or so things seem to get a little sluggish and just recently the internet is somewhat intermittent (loose connection at random times). I end up just reloading the OS to the hard drive partition and the system seems to be good to go for a year or so. I'm running a moderately stripped down version of XP.

Any advice? Great write up by the way.

I usually go to Cnet.com and check out the software for downloads. I did just download "Advanced System Care" and some other utilities from IOBot. I hope I did the right thing. I did see CCleaner, but did not download that one

    Am I ok with this utility ? ( I Have windows 7 with 64bit)
    Please advise, thank you

Ultimate, you are doing everything right to keep your system running. I'd probably test your hardware if you haven't done so.

There are two ways to do this. You can either run a full system test, which takes quite a bit of time.

Burn this following image to a CD using ImgBurn.
    PC Check
Then boot your computer to it.

Otherwise, you can run individual tests:
Get DFT and burn it to a cd. Boot to the CD and choose to do the advanced test. If it is green, your HDD is fine, if red, you will need to replace it.

Then run a test on your memory(RAM) using Memtest 86+. If any errors occurs, your memory is bad and needs replacing.

craigslist personals. as many cities as possible. M4M, W4W, T4M, whatever floats your boat lol
be sure to put their email in plain text.

sign up for sketchy websites with their email. even if the websites send emails to confirm the account, many will likely retain the email address.....the address along with others will eventually be sold off to spammers.

well, i mean, if i were to do it, that's how i'd start....

Never heard of this Daniel Tosh character. And I dont really know computers or Macs for that matter. I know Macs aren't invincible, but I have heard as far as viruses go, they are better. Actually I've heard they dont get viruses from most people but I dont fully believe that. Having said that, I'm not running any anti virus software as the reps all told us it's not needed.
