Well I know somebody that had it blocked off and he had bad trouble with smoking (no place for pressure to go). These engines seem to have a...well....shitty PVC system. I have always been plagued with crankcase pressure pushing oil out of the exhaust turbo seals and it appears to be worse after a fresh engine rebuild. I finally just broke down and vented the crankcase and no more smoke. This is such a common problem with these cars. So many threads, Krank Vents, new PVC's, TURBOS! I'm done with screwing with this PVC system. I ran hoses off all four corners of the heads and vented them to atmosphere.

Yes, that is what he means. Any tubing should, even to a pepsi can, be 3/8" dia min, but its arguable that even this may be too small. Also, it should not be blocked off, needs to have pressure relief to somewhere; atmosphere. I am considering enlarging the nipple on intake manifold to bubble; but waiting to see how the oil catch can works with stock nipple.

This was posted by Steve68 a while ago in another thread, I found it very helpful/informative.

The pressure in the valve cover is the pressure that is in the crankcase via oil passages ect. So venting them is venting the crankcase. It’s just the highest point of the engine so oil is less likely to escape.

I ended up cutting the nipple off the valve and gutting it, then grinded a groove around it so I could clamp a bigger hose on it. I was going to take pics of it before I put it on but forgot.

If you want pics of what I did I can send them to you. You do not want to run that hose back to the intake like it was.
