Hello everyone! guess who?! Just wanted to clarify a few things! I've been working with turbo bob, who has had his turbo shop for over 30 years now in the same location, and stand behind his work! First off, i've been getting real 15g and real 19t upgrades for everyone w/ complete rebuilds for a ridiculously low price, which is pretty much warrantied... However, I've been getting rebuilds done for people by bob as well. Leroy was an exception that wanted to rebuild his turbos (not upgrade) and was informed that the wheels that his turbos had were not 15gs! Therefore, they are not bob's 15g turbos!! I would have greatly appreciated you contacting me beforehand mr. verified seller, before any accusations are made in attempts to destroy turbo bob's reputation.... Turbo bob stand behind his work, and i know this through years of dealing with him!
Furthermore, turbo bob 15g owners..If any turbo would fail prematurely, please send them back! please call and notify me! if there is any questions or concerns, please pm me! I will be more than happy/willing to give you the confidence necessary. Also, this is not a high profit service (obviously)...it was originally intended for those that don't want to spend 2600 dollars on a turbos that are the exact same thing as turbo bob's. That being said, I would suggest to anyone that got turbos from him to inspect them and see what you've got. Easiest way is to measure the compressor inlet.

Also as a little headsup, these were not balanced and he did not install the heat shields.

Here was an original conversation through pm's I had w/ leroy. I offered leroy free additional services...also, because he had sent us all different generation parts,
as a core to rebuild and gave him the options neccessary (even regarding the seal plate) Yes, I told him to run them w/o them anyways, unless he wanted to find the proper
housings, because if they were to prematurely fail, bob would have rebuilt them for free! Everything was well communicated, therefore please contact
the person you are accusing first before publicizing false accusations about someone. Leroy's turbos are NOT 15 turbos and not Bob's 15g turbos..Leroy
clearly knew that....Furthermore, we are still willing to help leroy out for wahtever he needs, more services were offered to him, but he did not respond back
to my pm. (at the end of the day, leroy's turbos were rebuilt w/o any labor costs..it was the cost of parts only..)

I thought I had an old worn out 9b laying around, but I couldn't seem to find it. I did find a 13g with some shaft play in it, so I disassembled it. It will go out in the AM.

Talking with leroy more he told me he was told they were 15g's and that they were as you said just rebuilt by bob. Originally he had said they were 15g's from bob so I guess that part was not correct. I'm glad to hear at least it wasn't bob that did the "upgrade" and then said they were 15g's. We have enough hack shops around that we don't need anymore.

Although in regards to the heat shield, leroy showed me an email where bob responded to leroys concern about the missing heat shields and bob said it didn't need them. Which is not true, turbos def need that heat shield. From the way leroy made it sound bob wasn't going to do anything to fix it, hence why he sent the turbos to us. As for the balancing, we marked the postion of the wheel and turbine shaft and put it on the balancer and it definitely was not balanced. Again I don't know if bob said he was doing that or not.

Hold up. a little premature here. The turbos being referred to here are mine. I bought a set several years ago that were sold to me as 15Gs. Once I received them, I realized there was a lot of shaft play in them, set them aside and never did anything with them since. Well, After seeing the positive feedback tim was getting on the conversions, I asked if he would be able to have TurboBob rebuild them for me.

When I got these back from Tim, I disassembled the turbine housing nd found the heat shield was missing. At the time, I didn't know what it was or how important it was, so I posted some pics on 3si.

From the responses I was getting, it seems the heat shield is a pretty important part so I decided to send them up to Midwest Turbo Connection to get checked out.

Tim actually offered for me to send them back and have them re-installed. I was spooked by the whole thing and opted to send them to you instead.

I think you'll be ok as far as wheel size. Kind of a false alarm here because of a misunderstanding. Still on the fence about the quality of the build though. If you're looking for measurements, check out the pics and info in the first post.

it came out to 1.685 which seems to be around 43 or 42.2 which seems to be right on. i think. quality. well if they go out, they will be replaced. a risk ill take, tim has held up on his end of the deal, after i have confronted him on them being wrong, which they seem to be right. he is standing behind his work over and over again. with fast turn around . if they go out, and i need them redone and afterwords they go again, then it will be the end of that . but mine looked to be balanced as well, i do have marking from what could be either balancing or just to show what turbo type it belongs to.
